College Hostel

BASUMATI WOMEN’S HOSTEL

Sj. Dhirajlal Sahu of Bahalda, the founder of the college, constructed a women’s Hostel out of his generous contribution of Rs.1, 50, 000/- for the memory of his deceased wife Basumati Sahu. The hostel provides accommodation for 40 female boarders with a view to promoting female education in the college.

 

RULES FOR BASUMATI WOMEN’S HOSTEL

   
ADMISSION :

A. i)  Application for admission into the Basumati Women’s Hostel should be duly filled and signed      & submitted to the office of the Principal.

ii) The selection for admission into the Hostel is to be made by the admission committee according to merit & good conduct.

iii) Admission to the Hostel is strictly provisional.

iv)The Superintendent allows admission into the Hostel as per the selection list made by the       Principal.

v) The Superintendent maintains a register for each boarder starting with the bio-data and      their attendance during their stay in the hostel.

     
B. HOSTEL CHARGES AND FEES:

i) A boarder at the time of admission will pay the admission fee and caution money. Besides,    Boarders have to pay monthly seat rent, electricity charges and other charges, if any, for the    maintenance of the Hostel to the Superintendent within the specified time mentioned in the    notice.

ii) The fees prescribed to be collected from the boarders will be notified by the Principal/     Superintendent of the hostel and it may be subject to change according to the decision of the      G.B. / Principal of the college.

   
C. DISCIPLINE:

To maintain discipline is the utmost significance on the part of the boarders. The following will be considered as breaches of discipline.

i)  Absence from the Hostel without leave.

ii) Continued neglect on duty.

iii) Want of cleanliness and tidiness in room.

iv) Absence from the Hostel after 6 p.m. without the prior permission of the Superintendent.

v) Tampering with or damaging Hostel property .

vi) Misconduct of any other description, boarders may be removed from the hostel for breach of       above discipline. Boarders are not permitted to take any action against a cook or servant of       the hostel.  All complaints should be brought to the notice of the superintendent.

   
D. MESSING ARRANGEMENT:

i) The messing affairs are managed by a Mess Committee to be nominated by the        Superintendent.

ii) The boarders have to clear their Mess dues of particular month within the first week of each         month.

iii) All boarders are compelled to take meal in the hostel.

The birth and death anniversary of Late Basumati Sahu will be observed by the boarders and staff members of the hostel on 14th day of March and 26th day of January each year respectively.

E. AFFILIATED COLLEGE MESS:

Four affiliated college Messes viz. SIDHESWARLAXMAN COLLEGE MESS, The JAGANNATH MESS, The STUDY HOME MESS and The UTKAL COLLEGE MESS are running under the rules and regulations of the Principal. The detail information regarding the above college messes can be obtained from the Superintendent of the above messes notified in the college office during the time of admission in each academic year.
