Rules for Examination

1.    All students will have to appear at the first terminal and second terminal Examination in an  academic session as prescribed by the North Odisha University & C.H.S.E. Odisha.

2.  The Exact date of the Terminal Examination will be notified by the Principal 15 days   prior to actual date of holding the examination.

3.  One paper in each subject for all classes will be examined.

4.  Practical Examination for science subject will be conducted by the respective Heads of the   Department with prior instruction of the Principal.

5. Monthly test will be conducted by each Dept. and students must appear the said test regularly.

6.  A student who absents himself/herself from any college examination without obtaining  permission from the Principal is liable to be disqualified for appearing at the University/ Higher  Secondary examination or for promotion to next higher class as the case may be except on un-avoidable circumstances.

7. Only the sent up students are allowed to fill up the forms to appear the Degree examinations   and Higher secondary examinations conducted by University/Council authority. The exact date of form fill up will be notified by the Principal of the college as per the notification of the N.O.U and  C.H.S.E, Odisha.

8. The examinees have to collect their admit cards two days before the commencement of the  examination. And the students must come with the admit card to the examination hall.

9.  If a student is found copying or using any other unfair means in the examination hall, he/she  will be expelled from the examination hall and will be liable to be disqualified from  appearing at the Council/University examination and he/she may not be promoted to the next  higher class.

10.  Any distortion of the answer script by unhealthy language or distortion by any other means shall    be dealt with severely as deemed fit by the authority.

11.  Submission of blank answer paper shall entail heavy penalty which may even lead to detention.

12.  The consideration for sending up the student for the Council / University examination or for  promoting the student to the next higher class will be made separately on separate meetings  of the staff council with the Principal on the chair.

13.  The answer book of a candidate in any of the Terminal Examinations will be cancelled if  he/she sits elsewhere other than allotted room/seat.

       
B]. COUNCIL  EXAMINATION :
     

The C.H.S.E. Odisha , Bhubaneswar conducts Annual Examination every year .

i)  PASS MARK :
    +2 Arts/Commerce/Science
     30% of marks in each subject in which there is no practical examination.
     30% in theory and 40% in practical subject in which there is a practical.
     35% in the aggregate.   

ii) There is no second or supplementary Examination in +2 Stream. If a candidate fails in one subject in the Higher Secondary Examination but secures pass mark in aggregate, he /she can appear at the Instant Examination in the failed subject. If he/she secures pass mark in that subject in Instant examination, he/she will be eligible to get pass certificate.   

[C]. UNIVERSITY  EXAMINATION :
       A student has to appear the following examinations during 3 years course.
i)  First University Examination (1st Year)
ii)Second University Examination (2nd Year)
iii)Third University Examination(3rd Year)

One should appear at the First University Examination after one year of study. If he / she has not passed the First University Examination, he/she will have to appear Back examination. The same rule is applied for Second University and Third University Examination. If a student fails to fill up his form for First, Second or Third University Examination, he/she will not be eligible to appear Back Exam of the said year.  If a student fails to fill up the form to appear First University Back Examination, he/she is not eligible to appear Second Back or Third Back. No change of subject is allowed in Second or Third University Exam. One should not be given distinction if he has back papers.

GENERAL

A minimum of 30% in each subject and 36% of marks in aggregate GENERAL (With distinction)

A minimum of 50% marks both in Compulsory, Pass and Elective subjects in the first appearance

HONOURS

First Division 60% marks or above in Honours subject

Second Division 45% marks in Honours subject
